Greg loves trucks and Lego. After more than five years with GIFSA, he's developed greater independence, become more engaged in his daily life and discovered a new love of cooking, building confidence and new skills along the way.
My favourite thing about GIFSA is my support workers. They help me be more independent, get involved in more things and learn new skills. I've even learned to cook, and I love it!
Everyday support often means getting to appointments, the shops or the community, so our own vehicles make a real difference here.
In a region as big as ours, reliable transport can be the difference between taking part and missing out. That is why GIFSA has invested heavily in our own vehicle fleet. Over 20 vehicles, including some that are wheelchair-accessible and modified, are built for the needs of people with disability, alongside a range of standard vehicles for participant use.
This matters in the Goldfields-Esperance, where wheelchair-compatible transport is limited and availability can be unreliable. Having our own fleet means our participants can count on getting to programs, appointments and community activities safely, comfortably and on time, wherever they need to go across the Goldfields-Esperance region.
