Born from Our Community, and Still Driven by It
GIFSA began in 1991 as a self-help group set up to assist up to six local families in need of respite. More than three decades on, we've grown into a specialised, not-for-profit provider of a broad range of services for people with disability right across the Goldfields-Esperance region, governed by a local board of directors and delivered by a dedicated local team.
Yet we're still community-driven, not corporation-driven. This connection, our people, and our zero-tolerance stance on breaches of the NDIS Code of Conduct and any form of abuse, are a big part of why 60% of the people we support have chosen to stay with us for more than ten years.
