Supported Independent Living (SIL) is help and supervision with everyday tasks so you can live as independently as possible, while building your skills. GIFSA can provide SIL in your own residence, or in a GIFSA-owned SIL home in your community.

Living independently still means getting to work, appointments and the community, our fleet helps make that reliable.
In a region as big as ours, reliable transport can be the difference between taking part and missing out. That is why GIFSA has invested heavily in our own vehicle fleet. Over 20 vehicles, including some that are wheelchair-accessible and modified, are built for the needs of people with disability, alongside a range of standard vehicles for participant use.
This matters in the Goldfields-Esperance, where wheelchair-compatible transport is limited and availability can be unreliable. Having our own fleet means our participants can count on getting to programs, appointments and community activities safely, comfortably and on time, wherever they need to go across the Goldfields-Esperance region.

SIL is funded under Core Supports (Assistance with Daily Life). Specialist housing is assessed and funded separately. We'll help you navigate what's in your plan.
