Participant Stories

For many families, weekend and holiday programs are a highlight of the year. Here's what one young participant loves about it.

Taylor enjoys crafts, movies and, most of all, meeting people that are just like them. Over three years with GIFSA, they've built friendships, learned new skills and had opportunities to explore new experiences and become more involved in the community.

Getting There Is Part of the Support

Excursions and outings are part of the fun, our vehicles get participants there safely.

In a region as big as ours, reliable transport can be the difference between taking part and missing out. That is why GIFSA has invested heavily in our own vehicle fleet. Over 20 vehicles, including some that are wheelchair-accessible and modified, are built for the needs of people with disability, alongside a range of standard vehicles for participant use.

This matters in the Goldfields-Esperance, where wheelchair-compatible transport is limited and availability can be unreliable. Having our own fleet means our participants can count on getting to programs, appointments and community activities safely, comfortably and on time, wherever they need to go across the Goldfields-Esperance region.
