Starting with GIFSA Is Easier Than You Might Think
If you're new to us, or moving from another provider, we'll walk you through every step. You don't need to have all the answers. That's what we're here for.
The Steps
- Get in touch or complete an Expression of Interest form.
- We meet with you (and your family, guardian, advocate or other providers, if you'd like) to understand your goals, needs and preferences. This is called an assessment, and it also includes checking your eligibility.
- We check we're the right fit, that we have the right people, spaces and resources to support you well, and we'll tell you about other services in your area too.
- You receive written confirmation that you've been accepted, and a clear timeline for when your supports will start.
- Together we create a service agreement that fully reflects your goals, needs and preferences, then your supports begin.
You're Always in Control
You have full choice about what supports you receive and how they're provided, and we'll give you the time and help you need to make decisions. If you ever choose to leave, because you're moving, changing providers, or your needs change, you can let us know at any time. We'll create a transition plan to make any change as smooth and safe as possible.
